What a tier actually buys
The index behind this site costs about three calls per channel per week: resolve, enrich, and ask for recommendations. Indexing 5,177 channels weekly is roughly 62,124 calls a month.
Useful arithmetic before you pick: watching 500 channels daily is about 45,000 calls a month. A one-off crawl of 10,000 channels is 30,000.
Metering
RapidAPI counts every call that reaches a billed path. /health is not one, so liveness checks are free.
Lookups are the second counter, and the one worth sizing before you pick. Four paths spend one each: /v1/usernames/{username}, /v1/contacts/search, /v1/messages/search and /v1/channels/recommendations. Reading a channel you have already resolved and walking its history draw on calls alone — so a monitor over a fixed list pays a lookup once per channel and calls from then on. Every response reports what is left of each budget in its headers.
The free plan is enough to decide on
2,500 calls a month, no card. Enough to index a few hundred channels before you decide anything.
